Microblogging expects to use Smyte technology to more effectively detect potential infringers

In her blog, Twitter reported the purchase of Smyte, which specializes in identifying in the network trolling, cyberbullying and other attacks on the basis of comments and posts of users.

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed. However, it is known that earlier the startup attracted $ 6.3 million of investments from Y Combinator, Baseline Ventures, Founder Collective.

The company Smyte was established in 2014 in San Francisco. Its founders are former security engineers Google, Instagram and Facebook: Pete Hunt, Julian Tempelsman and Josh Yudaken.

Use the technology from Smyte can be through the REST API or the company will analyze the data directly from the application or database. The Smyte system contains a control panel, through which analysts can solve urgent calls in real time and to examine individual elements of the system manually and take mass events on them.

It is assumed that Twitter integrates Smyte technology into its software, which will allow monitoring and managing messages about abuses, as well as expose bots, scammers and other threats.

Smyte technology was previously used by companies such as Indiegogo, GoFundMe, npm, OLX, Carousell, etc. However, now, after the deal, Twitter has obliged Smyte to curtail cooperation with its previous customers.
